swallow? a bird? choking?

anyway,.. you don't need a arthopatic facility ( orthopedic) to be diagnosed
any MD can order a X ray, tests and visually examine the elbow to determine the diagnosis

When you bend your elbow, you can easily feel its "tip," a bony prominence that extends from one of the lower arm bones (the ulna). That tip is called the olecranon (oh-lek'-rah-nun). It is positioned directly under the skin of the elbow, without much protection from muscles or other soft tissues. So it can easily break if you experience a direct blow to the elbow or fall on a bent elbow.

Signs and symptoms

Sudden, intense pain.

Bruising around the elbow.

Rupture or abrasion of the overlying skin.

Possible deformity, if there is also a dislocation of the bone.

Tenderness and swelling over the bone site.

Numbness in one or more fingers.

Pain with movement of the joint.

How hard did you fall?, If it was ok yeasterday then all you have done is damaged soft tissue, nothing to be worried about.. it should heal up in a couple of days and you may find a bruise will appear, if it doesnt get better within 3 or 4 days then go get it checked out.

wait one week if no improvement could have bone chip. or tendon damage. soak in warm water rub in ointment. it always hurts more the day after , not much can be done now if really sore use an arm sling to restrict movement. take pain medicine as needed to reduce swelling. its hard to break an elbow if any thing was broken i think you could tell good luck

If you're not screaming in pain, you probably didn't break it.

Most likely you whacked it good, and it'll hurt for a while. I fell while snowboarding a few weeks ago, and it took a few days before my shoulder hurt, but then it really hurt. It's only barely getting better now.
