Foundation:
I have tried YSL, MAC, Clinique, Estee Lauder, Chanel, Lancome.
Verdict: I have been using estee lauder double wear range for foundation. Its the best for me coz my work requires me to look presentable usually 30hrs (flying). Its full coverage, long lasting and doesnt need any/much of touch ups. Its doesnt run on hot weather nor cakey on my face after sweating and heavy perspiring. Easy to clean/must clean with cleansing milk followed by toner. Its important to get the right foundation coz this acts as a base and if your foundation runs on your skin, so will your eyeshadow.
Eyeshadow:
Ia have tested Chanel, YSL, MAC, Shu Eumura, Lancome and Estee Lauder.
Verdict:
I would strongly recommend YSL or Lancome. They are long lasting and doesnt run easily either. Just one dab, u got the colour on your lid whereas estee lauder, u need to apply a few times on your lid to get the perfect tone. Shu Eumura was a bit too strong and u gotta have perfect blending skill, Chanel was too powdery and tend to fall on your cheeks during application.
Mascara: YSL or Estee Lauder
Lipstick: The best for me would be of Versace lipstick. My second choice would be Estee Lauder. It moistens and comes in cool packaging. Chanel lipstick has been hopeless, they always breaks at the base. Tried every method to keep it intact believe me but it breaks so easily.
Above all, spend on good skin care, especially your make-up cleanser and good moisturiser. Coz u cant hide bad skin under heavy make-up. Cheerio..

There really are so many...each line has a star product or two. MAC has some great lip/nail colors, but their shadows aren't the best quality. Clinique and Lauder both have nice lip glosses - YSL has a fantastic concealor, Bobbi Brown for your powder, Chanel for your eye shadow and liners, you'll never fine a smoother product - Perscriptives has a few good foundations - Clairns a great self tanner, and bronzer....shop around and experiment - talk to the girls (or guys) working behind the couter, and if they're worth their weight, they'll apply what you want to try and you can walk away with some knowledge.

I have used so many brands of make-up over the years: MAC, Clinique, Estee Lauder, Borghese, and almost every drugstore brand. By far the best has been Bobbi Brown. The prices are on the higher end, but the make-up is worth it.
I used Clinique when I was younger, but as I got older (in my 30's) it dried my skin out. I think it is best for younger skin.
MAC is also good, but I found the foundation wasn't as good as the eye and lip products for that line.
Bottom line: I love Bobbi Brown. I have found the associates who work at the Bobbi Brown counters at my local department store are very knowledgable.
Good luck!

Jordana makes some great makeup. I don't think that they test on animals. It's all made in the USA, is great quality, an comes with a great price too! Here is a link to where you can buy lots of Jordana makeup online:

I also like the Burt's Bees makeup. They don't make a lot of it, but I especially like their Lip Shimmers. Their products are almost 100% natural and they don't test on animals! They also sell hair products and more!

Clinique has some great quality makeup. It's a little on the expensive side, but your eyeshadow will never wear off during the day, trust me! The thing that I really like is their mascara. The Clinique High Impact Mascara works great for me if I keep it to one coat!

L'ancome Paris has some nice makeup, but they are even more expensive than Clinique. Clinique and L'ancome are even in quality, but L'ancome still makes some nice makeup.

Hope these help!!! =)

My suggestion is don't stick with the same brand for all of your makeup. Different lines offer different products that could be better for you. I use everything from MAC to Covergirl. Try some stuff out. These are some things that are in my makeup bag:
MAC lipgloss- I own a bunch of these. In my opinion the best lipglosses around.
MAC studio fix powder- I'm not a big fan of foundation, so this powder works good for me with good coverage.
Cover Girl great lash mascara- The best mascara by far. (a lady working at a makeup counter in Macys turned me on to it...Go Figure)
Sephora brand has a really large variety of eyeshadows. Most have a hint of sparkles in them, which I happen to like.
Benefit is one of my favorite brands bc I love their bronzing products. The hula bronzer is great! They also have wonderful body shimmers & gels.

I am a HUGE fan of MAC. They are affordable and offer a wide variety of colors and options. They also have a recycling program: When you are finished with six products, save the containers (eyes shadow, foundation, lip stick/gloss). When you have six "empty" containers bring them back to any MAC counter and they will give you a free lip stick.
Also, if you buy a color that you think will work on you and it doesn't you can always exchange it for another. There are never any questions as to why. They feel as though they would rather you be happy with the product rather than never use it.
GOOD LUCK!!

I would go with Mary Kay. It is amazing and they have so many shades of everything to choose from! They also have different makeup for different skin types. I have have oily skin and I can even sleep in the foundation without breaking out! Also, the foundation doesn't make it look like your wearing makeup....it just looks like you have a naturally amazing complextion! Try it cuz you'll love it! I promise!

Avon is good quality makeup. people never mention it cause you cant go to the drugstore and pick it up. Their lipstick is awsome, and they have tons of stuff to chose from. Also, as a bonus, lets say you buy a green eyeshadow. You swipe it on and decide you really dont like the color on you, return it to the person you bought it from and get a full refund, not questions asked!!!!
Why would you turn down a deal like that?

I like Clinique myself. It is a good brand. If you are not sure about what brand you want, look on ebay. They often sell sets and kits for under $20. These kits come with three to nine pieces. This is a cheap way to find out if you like the make-up.

All different brands have great things, for example, in my opinion YSL and Lancome do the best mascaras, YSL for touche eclat, Lancome do the best foundations, MAC for eyeshadow, Bobbi Brown for blusher and bronzer and eyeliner and Estee Lauder for brushes.
It all depends, experiment!
