I think he only said he loves you because he still wants to mess around with you before he finds some one else or he finds some one to have on the side. If he loved you he wouldn't be thinking about what he could do if he got another girls #. What is he doing trying to get those #'s, is what you need to ask your self. So to answer your question, yes I would dump him.

If he's already having a wandering-eye, he obviously isn't sincere about or committed to the relationship- this isn't a quality which you can force out of him and you shouldn't have to.
Move on to a guy who has eyes only for you and leave this loser to pursue the endless shallow relationships his attitude is setting him up for.

I would break up with any guy who told me he has a 'wandering eye', and was wondering how far he would go if he got a girl's number. At least he told you though, instead of cheating on you behind your back.
