Try outside of Livonia, Detroit has several good Italian spots....
Roma Cafe on Riopelle in Eastern Market
Giovannis on Oakwood in Detroit
La Dolce Vita on Woodward
Mario's on Second

ive never heard of it before but when i lived in michigan, my friends took me to "boca de peppe" i think thats how its spelt. It was served family style , and it was a tad bit on the expensive side, but nothing too horrible. For 3 of us with 3 family style dishes and dessert it was about 100 bucks...not too terrible but that was a nice place...other than that..i didnt eat out much except for dennys, we dont have that in ny lol
