Virtual Villagers 2: the lost children?

my first game was over..and i start it over..but when i played it again teh cauldron at the sharp tool near the sacred area for the dead was gone..i didnt find it anywahre else in the island..how oculd i retrieve those things so i can solve the puzzle.
