Those players are not bad. They are superstars. The problem is, the current Real Madrid team is built for profit, not for championship. They bought so many famous players to make fans excited, and they made money for that. Currently they are richest football club in the world.
But in the other hand, they did not consider that a good team is consist of several types of players, not only the skillful and beautiful ones, but also the tough and tenacious ones. They have crisis of defensive players and ball-winners.
Many of their players are 30 over. It means their physical conditions are declining. In a few years they will not be suitable to face 'speed and power' football.
For several seasons, they also did not have a coach that can bring winning attitude. Maybe this is an effect of intervention of Madrid's president. Club owners and executives should not intervene technical issues too much, because many of them do not understand what happen on the field and in the players' room.

The Spanish Liga, also demands alot from the player. The players must be equipped with skills. And Real Madrid is going through quite a rough time. Although as much as he tries to oppose it on his statements. He choses his players based on the relationship he has with them, not because of performance.
Someone like Cannavaro is able to rely on a lot of support from the three other defenders in Italian Football, it's different in Spanish Liga.

One side of a field can only contain so much ego. There's no room left for good play. Madrid would be much better off getting some less-known role players to play solidly in a few of their positions. It would leave more space in which their superstars could perform.

Real Madrid is tough team with all round great players but I must say Bayern gave them a really good game so I guess it's all about luck.

I think most of those who migrated to Real last summer are facing the bitter fact that there old team are doing way better then Real :)
