In the past when life was lived at a more sedate pace and families stayed close together (extended family) the generational succession from grandparent to parent to child was the normal way of imparting core values (perhaps that is lacking today) the catchy expression which spread far and wide was:- remember the importance of the three Rs - - reading , 'riting & 'rithmetic.

Sad isnt it they call us dyslexic and say education standards have gone down.... and the 3R's are readin riting and rithamatic, now I know where I went wrong
maybe it shout be
Rancid Repugnant Rambling
or
Rabid replusive resolute or
well the list could go on and

It's pretty amusing that this is in relation to education, yes? As far as I can see, the only validity of using three r's is that the strongest syllables all start with the R sound.

I was going to ask this before! I thought it would be reding writing and arithmatic, but that is blatently NOT THREE R's!!! So I thought it must be something else. However reading this it seems I was right.
How can we encourage children to learn with this cr@p!

To me the three R's now stand for reduce, reuse, recycle (im a recycling officer)
