Many people have a hard time dealing with the Truth. Especially when it comes to themselves. This is because society does not reward people for telling the truth. We encourage people to "fake it" and not "hurt" other's feelings. How many times have you told someone that they "looked good" with a new haircut or outfilt, when in reality they looked terrible? Why? Because, if you told them the truth, you would be outcast as a jerk, snob, other other fill in the blank expletive.
The result is that we are conditioned to tell people what they want, not what we really believe. If we can be true to ourselves, then we can begin to be truthful with others on a regular basis.

I answer the questions as honest as i can. No reason why a person has to pretend to be different , is there. It is not like you can make someone like you or choose your answer. Totally up to that person. I know i am honest.:))

Everyone wants in some sense to gain the approval of someone else, even when it comes to an expression of opinion.

I always give honest opinions, occasionally moderated to avoid violation notices. These forums are as anonymous as we wish so I cannot see the point of lying to avoid becoming unpopular with people with whom we are not acquainted.

that's very true good question.i have always spoken my mind and and can be brutally blunt at times but i believe in free speech and own opinions and that if one does choose to give an opinion then they shouldn't be judged on it and excepted and not taken personally.
