i know they were trying to introduce a law so we were allowed to know if there were any peodos loving in your area but im unsure if it has come into affect?
i want to be able to be sure that my daughter is safe in our own area.
without these complete wan*ers being around.
how can i find this out?

go to your county's website and there should be a link to what you are looking for under REGISTERED SEX OFFENDERS. if it is not there, try the sherriff's departments website under REGISTERED SEX OFFENDERS. You can also call your children(s) schools (they have to be notified of any living within so many feet of a school) and ask someone there or call your local police station and ask.

The law only shows people who have been convicted and released. It is a violation of their rights to privacy, since they have already served their term. It is in effect, look up "Sex offender registry" on yahoo.

The best way to keep your daughter safe is to teach her to not talk to strangers, and to tell you if anyone tries to do anything to her, even family. No area is safe, even the small town I live in has 32 offenders, Indianapolis (largest major city) has over 850. It is your responsibility as a parent to keep your child safe, and to teach them to be safe.
