I hope rap is remembered as a joke, but there will always be someone trying to keep it alive. Rock is so much more fun!!

With every new generation there come a new twist to exsisting music. From the calm hymnals came jazz, which ushered in rock-n-roll. Disco was the offshoot and then something changed with rap. It was more in touch with the root of the common man and not the established norm. It took on elements of the African culture with rythmic drum-n-bass and harmonizing with the melody. All of this in a country where all things African or black for that matter were denied or kept in check. This revolutionary style changed the landscape of American music forever. As disco went the way of the dodo, so to will rap diminish but with lasting influence I believe.

I think there are some good rap songs (not alot just some) as there is some good disco songs. Dance music has never gone out of style and never will. But on the good songs will survive. Call i what you will Disco, New wave,Rap,Techo, Club it's all dance and only the good tunes will be remembered.
Long live ROCK!

No. Rap or Hip Hop has been around way too long already to be considered a fad. Its seems to me as not only music but a whole way of life. I'm a major rock and Heavy Metal fan but I believe there is a lot of good Hip Hop out there.

that is rather not in all risk a question. besides, even nonetheless I detest maximum rap, that is for sure no longer a fad via fact that is been continuously familiar for extra advantageous than 2 an prolonged time. i presumed maximum hipsters favourite "indie" rock song, no longer rap. i presumed maximum rap followers have been the two black, Hispanic, or youthful white little ones who prefer to look difficult.

Rap and hip hop are already 25-30 years old. Not a bad run for a 'fad'.

I don't think that you can call a genre of music that's been around for over 30 years a "fad".

No, this one has its grassroots followers, the lazy worthless criminals and scum in the ghettos in every major city, while disco did not come from any poarticular social group and did not emphasize any social paradigms, not even as sickening as those in rap.
