Offence was in November and got letter to say to be referred to Procurator Fiscal. Have not heard anything since. How long does it normally take?
Oh and do you have to be present in court or can you represent yourself by letter (think i heard you can do this)

They have a maximum of 6 months from the date of offence to action the prosecution.

They usually take 5 and a half!

In England, the courts have 6 months from the date of the N.I.P. to actually take the case to court.

If the case is 'to be heard', you may not have to attend.
If you receive a summons to court, you must attend. The police can be sent to arrest you if you don't.
