Well, I hate to use your poor answers, but there will be not enough spent on the actual military, and way too much spent on the war that Bush is involving us in.
I'm willing to bet that the amount of money spent will be $470 billion.
Here's how it went in 2006...
Total Funding $419.3 Billion.
Operations and maintenance $124.3 Bil.
Military Personnel $108.8 Bil.
Procurement $79.1 Bil.
Research, Development, Testing & Evaluation $69.5 Bil.
Military Construction $12.2 Bil.
Department of Energy Defense Activities $17.0 Bil.

Our military should get what ever it needs (even if we have to cut social programs).Unfortunately,with the Dem's in charge of congress now,defunding our military is their top priority.Defending our country from its enemies is the Most important issue that congress should deal with.Let charities and churches deal with all the social issues.

About 6 cent on every dollar, spent on welfare programs
might go top the Military. You know its more important to
keep Katrina Refugees in Hotels, then to equip, our Troops.
Heck besides all they do , is Defend our Freedom !

more than the american tax payer can afford. currently we're funding our military with the chinese dollar. 2 month's into the year and we're already past budget.
