What linux gives best XGL ?

..i have suse 10.2 cos it was easy to insall..i tried knoppix 5.1 di not work ...it did not load cos its stp with a line like this

[DS-DOS] A:/> something like thing ? ..
so i need some like easy to install like suse 10.2 ..ubuntu ..please tell me how get those nice XGL ..effects..suse shoud have but i can' t get do i need video card divers ..for my ATI card..

please tell me best XGL linux..
