I want to find out about the history of a local pub that has recently been demolished?

Could anyone recommend a good website that could help? I am in Newcastle Under Lyme, Staffordshire. The pub is the Marsh Head in Maybank.

A good place to start would be the County Records Office:- http://www.staffordshire.gov.uk/leisure/archives/
It might also be worth speaking with the archivist of the last brewery that owned it.

I would start by asking older locals that might have frequented the pub in the past. Simply look for old people and you will be surprised at what they know and what they can recall. Also ask local stores nearby that may have been around for a while.
