i would go for the hen first...
why?
because : the first sites of specialisation began when the fittest survuved, after that--came their turning into forms --like a hen is a specialised form,
the egg could NOT have been specialised beforehand to be a hen or a chicken if the specialisation in an animal had not come to be like a hen...as they say 'survival of the fittest'
so the hen came first-which then reproduced
i seriously think that this is the correct answer, this question has been asked many times on this site: but i never used to anser,i answered coz u were a proffessor and serious things to serious people :)

This question has been asked many many a times.According to me both the egg and hen came first because if there was a hen then there must surely be an egg also.

well, everyone who says the egg can not explain where the egg came from. However, God created hens and gave them the ability to create eggs. So, my answer is hen.

This question has been asked hundreds of times on here.
My answer: the egg came before the chicken. That egg was laid by a very slightly different bird that wasn't quite a chicken. (Apologies to Darwin)
PS Professor at 26? Can I come and teach at your university - they must have a fast track promotion system!!

You are liar that you are a professor when you just dont know the answer of such a simple question. At the age of 26 nobody can become a professor. A profess may have exp of 26 years of teaching.

the hen, because before there were eggs there were the animals that had sex ( or what ever ) without eggs and i think that mr. 26 yrs prof needs to laydown on the couch and take a sleepy pill not a egg, a sleepy pill. haha

Well, it depends on what you believe in terms of religion. If you're a Christian, then you might believe that the chicken came first because the bible, which states that God made all the animals of the Earth and told them to reproduce.
And if you're not, then, I don't know.
