David Gilmour from Pink Floyd absolutely pisses on most of the players named above, with the arguable exceptions of Jimi Hendrix, Jimmy Page and Eric Clapton. He's not the fastest or most histrionic of players but every note he plays is perfect for the song.

Slash made me pick up the guitar in the 1st place.
I love Steve Vai & Joe Satriani for their amazing abilties.
Joe Perry is easy to listen to.
And I love bluegrass and country players.
