It hasn't actually! Evolution never stops! But the main "design" of the crocodile is a succesfull one.

Evolution is an unstoppable process. The anatomy of the crocodile is so well adapted that the basic faculties remain the same. Had the evolution stopped, we wont be having 23 species of crocs, alligators and gharials today.

Don't you understand what evolution is?

Thing is we see little change in the basic bodyform of crocodylians because evolution has this policy 'if its not broke, dont fix it'.
