Picture the scene. You are sitting in your living room with your wife/girlfriend watching a thriller. Someone on screen is murdered and all you see is the hand holding the murder weapon. Why does your other half ask "who did that?". Or someone breaks into an office and starts looking through the drawers of a desk why do they ask "what is he looking for?". Do they think that, despite seeing exactly the same amount of the story as they have, you have been made privy to some extra information because you are a man?

Asking questions is a woman's nature. If they didn't ask so many questions, men wouldn't have to lie so much.

That's a pretty broad generalization of women. I'm sure there are just as many men who do the same thing (in fact, my husband is one of them!).

I've decided it's either a nervous habit caused by tension from watching a thriller, or they really do think we've seen something that they missed and have solved the mystery. I take it as a compliment on my cognitive abilities.

i have one better. my wife and i can be watching the same exact movie and say it is a thriller or a murder. you know how the murderers many times will corner the good guy and go on a 2 minute speech about how they did what they did and why they did it and explain in detail. .. i mean he goes on and on. .. after that is over . my wife will lean over to me and ask. so why did he kill the person. .. i have looked at her and was like. are we watching the same movie??

It's not just women that do this!

It's usually done by people that are either very impatient or who don't really pay attention to things they are watching.

Personally I can't stand any talking during a movie at all, but I like to get engrossed in a good film!

The hard part is not to let it annoy you.

Don't get me started on this! My partner is a bit of a dim wit when it comes to films and tv shows - he is constantly asking "whats that mean?", "why is he doing that?" or "have I missed something?".

Not only that, but he gives me the look of daggers if I (once in a blue moon) make a comment myself!

I'm female and I never ask those questions during a show. Usually I'm the person hushing the person next to me who won't shut up and, about a fourth of the time, said person is male.

Guys do the same, especially in the movie theaters. A lot depends on the person

We have to, men are so intelligent, so bright, so clever [hehehe] let me explain to you what i do. I sit and watch tele , i watch but i am not really concentrating then suddenly something will interest me and now i have lost the plot so i ask hubby why, what, who and when and that annoys him.
The reason i am not concentrating, that is why.

I know, that's so annoying. Like, how the hell are you supposed to know when your watching the same thing? It's just what I consider stupid, nonsensical blabbering. They can't "follow" the program in their heads, so they have to think out loud or something equally as stupid.
