I am planning on flying home at 30weeks for delivery. its difficult to explain why i want to go but i really want to. I really love my husband too much and have always given up things to keep him happy, he does the same for me.
For the first time in our life we are stuck as he wont be there when the baby comes and he is very unhappy about it. He will get paternity leave but the problem is that delivery dates are never certain.
He wants to be the first one to hold the baby.i can understand his feelings and feel terribly selfish for doing this to him but still cant make up my mind not to go.
Can anyone think of a good solution to my problem?
Please help
Thanks in advance

Its something that is going to take a lot of thinking. I mean its his baby too. My husband is in Iraq and I'm in the US. Hopefully he will get to be here when the baby is born but babies don't really follow due dates too well. I would never go somewhere else to have my baby if my husband couldn't be there. But that's just my opinion.

In my opinion, he is the co-creater of the baby that you are carrying, so he 100% should be intitled to be the first one to hold that baby. Im not sure why you want to go back and leave your hubby behind, but it must be for a good reason. Just think about it before you leave him to deliver somewhere else: you wouldnt have that baby if it wasnt for him, he could help you through birth, and he would have to sit at home and wonder how everything is going while you are somewhere else, then fly back home with your baby to meet his/her daddy. what if something goes wrong? complications? you should defiantly have him there with you.

It sounds like you are being kind of selfish. It is his baby too and he deserves to be there for the birth. Is there any way that you can give birth and then fly home a week or two later. It just seems that your priorities may be a little off.

You will have to make a choice either way - there is no "good solution".

Either you go without him, or he comes with you, or you stay with him. These are the choices.

You just have to weigh up what your priorities are - spending the last trimester of your pregnancy and giving birth with the father of your child there to support you, so he can see and hold his newborn, or going to another country and having him miss the whole thing.

I know where I'd be.

The only and the Best Solution is call your Mom to UK. Problem is solved. Many girls do the same as an alternate to going to mother's place.

Best of luck.
