I've lived in both countries. They're very similar, but depending on what you look for. There are pros and cons in either one.

-USA-
good: warmer in most region, lower taxes (good for riches), online shopping always ships to US, Cinco de Mayo, beaches, larger street signs...
bad: guns, wasteful, 2 party political system dividing the country, poor public facilities, tight red tape for visitors, mean custom agents, you're expected to like Starbucks...

-Canada-
good: nicer people, public services like health care, well structured government for efficient funding, recycling and environmental programs, people live longer, TV shows from both countries...
bad: too friendly too much small talks, higher tax, damn cold, good health care for annual checkups but long wait time for serious illnesses, love & hate relationship with USA, online shopping often don't ship to Canada, you're expected to like Tim Horton's...

I can go on and on, but don't wanna bore you.

Of course Canada is better than America. They allow for universal health care, gay rights, and their crime rate is lower than most all countries. I'd may even consider moving there, so that life could be a bit simplier for my children.

America is better than Canada. However, I do love those famous waterfalls. I went there twice.

For goodness sake!!!
Too many Canadians have been asking this boring question for too long...
We are who we are!
Be satisfied with the good and the bad, because no particular country has the answers..
There is so much to be proud of for being Canadian! Why do we need to be in a beauty contest with others!!??

It is for most Canadians. But I'm going to go out on a limb here and say that the US is 'better' for most Americans.

Funny how it works that way. Nationalism makes us think strange things about this planet.
