Was it ever true that if you went to mc Donalds and said 2 all beef patties special sauce lettuce cheese pickles and onions all in a sesame seed bun, really fast you got a free big mac or was it a wind up from my sister who was 5 years older? I used to dream of them free big macs and practised every minute i could!

Its true!!! And if you say "most powerful production car in existence capable of travelling at 253.2 mph" then they give you a Bugatti Veyron 16.4

It is almost true! (at least in Australia)
When I was young, they ran a promotion in combination with World Series Cricket that anyone saying that famous phrase ("Two all beef patties, special sauce, lettuce, cheese, pickles, onions on a sesame seed bun") would be given a free World Series Cricket poster.
Not very exciting I guess, but it did exist. I would much rather have been given a Big Mac, but that was back in the days when I could hardly hold one in my hands!

My mom called in to the local radio station and won all kinds of free Mickey D's when they were having a contest of the same sort. If you called in and said the jingle fast without messing up, then you won two free big macs. But it wasn't something you could just walk into McDonald's and do. This was about twenty five years ago, too.

it was about 30 + years ago. I did it once and got a free one at a McDonald's back then.. I don't know if it was a nationwide promo but I remember the commercials. So I would say it was true for me.

I remember that. I was a little kid, and I remember trying it, but I would always forget part of it. A friend of mine was able to do it. It only lasted a little while, and it was easily 25 years ago.

I seem to remember a promotion for that about 30 years ago. I think it was only for one day.

The did some commercials where people said that quickly on camera, but I don't think they ever offered free sandwiches for it.

So you doubt the authenticity of McDonald's making good meals, eh?
