Democrat. He ran against Gerald Ford. He was known for being a deeply religious, churchgoing person and a very peaceful man. He made a lot of decisions in the name of trying to keep the peace, both internally and overseas, that turned out badly, such as dealing with unions, industry deregulation, and lots of foreign policy snafus. The Iran hostage crisis happened during his watch and so did the second oil embargo during the 70's (the first one was under Nixon or Ford). Overall, Jimmy Carter was a very sweet man with a good heart, but he just didn't have the balls for the presidency.

According to historians, Jimmy Carter was one of the worst presidents. He was a democrat. During his presidency, interest rates rose to 21% so buying a house was nearly impossible. Also, the US was humiliated when over 50 Americans were held hostage in the American embassy in Iran and Carter sent a mission to rescue the hostages. The helicopters that were headed to Iran in the rescue effort crashed in the desert. The hostages were not released until Reagan took office. America also had energy shortages and long gas lines. Carter was very weak during his presidency and was not able to have successful approaches to his challenges. He rules from weakness instead of strength and brought down the US image in the world. He was one of the worst presidents to hold office in the US.

Lets talk about Democrats. The Party that has not passed a budget in four years or since Obama was first elected. We have a President who borrowed more money in the last four years than all of the other presidents combined over a period of 232 years. Carter looks like a budgetary genius compared to Obama.

Liberal Democrat and NOT much of anything. Jimmy allowed the economy to go south, inflation and interest rates were in double digits and at one time the prime rate got to about 20%!
Jimmy failed to support the Shah of Iran and as a result supposedly students attacked the US Embassy in Tehran and took American diplomats hostage. Jimmy did nothing except get a bunch of Americans killed trying to rescue them. They were held for over a year until Reagan took office, then they were released. The Iranians knew that Reagan was coming after his people.
Jimmy claimed that he was attacked by a rabbit while fishing in a boat. He admitted to Lusting in his heart after women other than Rosaline. He was and is a dud.

Democrat.
Oil Embargo. Forget high prices, we had no gas.
Home interest rates 18-22%
Iran Hostages 444 days.
Put Social Security into the general fun to balance the budget.

there is more, I hate to bring back such bad memories. His administration was a train wreck.

His party affiliation was Democrat. What he was and IS is an idiot.
It was his withdrawal of support for the Shah of Iran over alleged human rights abuses that led to that country being overrun by religious fanatics, where women are routinely given capital punishment for adultery. ( Talk about human rights abuses )
And that's just the short list.

Democrat.

Some of his claims to fame were the creation of the Department of Energy and the Department of Education. He is currently the second-oldest living president.

He was a democrat, basicly a nice man but not very effective as President, raised taxes bought on alot of inflation.

I actually know him, back in my law enforcement days I was assigned to body guard him on several occassions when he came to Atlanta.

Latter when I meet him, he remembered my name and family, he was amazing.
