I remember when I was a kid, I had a teacher that told really freaky, creepy stories. Since then, she has had them published. Her name is Roberta Simpson Brown, and her stories were scary to me as a kid (and I was an avid reader of Stephen King even then).

There's this book by spanish author Carlos Ruiz Zafon called: "El principe de la Niebla" that is very good and very scary at times. I'm not sure if it's already translated to English but I bet I'll freak you out.

If you're looking for books for younger readers it would be anything by RL Stine or Christopher Pike. I used to read those when I was younger and sometimes I had to sleep with the lights on! Happy Reading!

It depends, but "Cirque du Freak" has it's moments of horror, as well as anything by RL Stine. Also Vivian Vande Velde is an excellent children's writer, some of her stuff is "spooky."
