The Birmingham accent is the worst accent in the UK followed closely by the Glasgow accent.

Sorry but I really don't like the nasally Scouse accent or the Brummie accent. I actually have relatives from these parts of the UK so I am not against them personally - just don't like the way they sound.

I also don't like the accent that London kids speak - mock-"american-gangsta" when they hail from UK with UK born parents! That really annoys me and just proves how impressionable they are!

I have some great brummie friends, but I have to say the brummie accent sounds boring.
It is because it is so nasal and flat.
Geordie, with it's rising and falling intonations, is the most interesting.
I hate 'mockney' - esp[ecially from t0ssers like Jamie Oliver who wouldn't recognise 'the east end' if it came up and bit him in the @rse.

I guess my own accent would be called east end/ estuary - not quite cockney, but close enough to be confusing to an outsider

I don't like my own accent very much (I'm from Glasgow). It sounds very hard and aggresive - good in an argument though with lots of swear words! Also don't like the Brummie accent - sorry. Very whiny and grates on me. I like Geordie, Scouse and Welsh accents the best.

What a great question, got lots of smiles reading the answers :)

Well I dislike those middle class twenty-something accents where they come out with sayings such as 'bad', 'wicked', 'nuff' or 'low it'. Like they think it is 'hip' to chat street or something, yet they are always about 15 years behind with the lingo!

I don't know how familiar this will be but Estuary English is horrible, it's the accent of people who live on the Thames Estuary, so south Essex and north west Kent. It's a horrible, common, grating accent (apologies to anyone who has it!)

It's not that I dislike an Eastend accent but the colloquialisms are hard from an Ozarkian Hillbilly to follow...especially when drunk. Meaning when I'm drunk. Doesn't matter for the other person. : )

For some reason I have a real aversion to the London accent, not sure why. Maybe it's something to do with being from Yorkshire.

I don't know the difference, i do not know where people are from when they talk to me but some i can hardly understand. I dislike people talking in the YO bro manner that is irritating but the rest of uk, it is fine we all have a different way of talking. My favourite is Irish.
