Well... though the flower withers and falls, you appreciate the charming flower when it is present, dont you? You stop, stare and awe at the marvel of creation. You notice the plant because of the flower.
Similairly people in this world - be it poets, artistes or the common man have always given importance to beauty. Hence, who doesn't want attention? Thus every girl wants to flaunt what she does/doesnt have... am not saying its justified. Am just telling you that they have a reason.
