a high BMI (body mass index) means that you are overweight/obese this occurs in pregnancy because you gain a lot of weight from the baby

BMI is body mass index, a high bmi means that the person is overweight/obese.

If someone is over weight in pregnancy then it could cause some problems but the best person to give advice would be a doctor or midwife.

Body mass index, its a calculation to see if your are in the underweight, normal, obese, or morbidly obese category. From there you can plan your eating habits during pregnancy because if you had a high bmi before you were pregnant gaining too much weight could cause extra stress on you and the baby. but i wouldn't worry too much about a high bmi. before my pregnancy i was on the real high end of the normal category and i weighed 140 lbs, and to me thats not close to obese at all, but what do i know, im not the doctors who made bmi up anyways! hope this helped.

A high BMI means you are overweight. I would speak to your midwife/gp/obstetrician if you are worried about implecations that being overweight can cause in pregancy. There are some problems but just try not to put on too much more weight and dont eat for two! Eat healthily and take gentle exercise such as walking.

A high BMI means your overweight or obese. Pregnancy while carrying excess weight are usually considered high risk, but get prenatal care early and things should go well.

It means you are overweight or obese. It can cause a number of complications, but doesn't have to. I had an obese BMI with my pregnancy and never had the first problem. Take care of yourself and follow your doctors orders and chances are good you'll be fine.
