It's great that you recognize this in yourself. Since you know that you may fly off the handle, try to remove yourself from a situation for a few minutes before you blow to calm yourself. Or acknowledge to the other person that you are about to become very angry and are working toward controlling it. Good luck.

Count to 10 before you do anything crazy, count to 20 if you still feel like doing something crazy, find more positive outlets for your aggression and perhaps opt for an anger management course. I'm very hot tempered too and playing football for a club and running a few miles every morning, lifting weights and beating the crap out of my punching bag has done me wonders.
Also tell yourself that the object of your rage is not worth wasting your time, bringing yourself down to their level, or getting yourself in trouble, and walk away as a better person.
However, if this all fails, then the person who got you pissed off in the first place actually deserves to die, and so I see nothing wrong with going nuclear on their butt.

It seems that a lot of people are assuming that you have issues related to being angry at other people. The real trick is finding out the source of your anger. Could it be that you are angry at yourself for things related to not being perfect? Anger can be a chemical imbalance in the brain just like depression. Understanding why you get angry all the time is a great step to recovery. If you don't understand it then it will be with you forever. Might want to look into getting it checked out. Best of luck to you.

That is what people assume from a couple incidents in the bible. However, we know so little about his personality that I find making that kind of judgement presumptuous. He lobbed off the High priest's servant's ear in the garden with a sword but you must realize Jesus had been laying low for a while because he and his disciples knew that the Pharasees were planning to kill him. Peter was probably on alert to guard Him. Now Jesus called James and John the sons of thunder....what does that say about their character? Were they very arguementative? We all argue sometimes.

get this straight.............you better get a handle on it, before someone hurts you or you hurt someone else and you end up in jail. Get professional help. Go talk to someone you look up to. You need to get it through your head that nobody controls your actions but YOURSELF. Get the negativity out of your life, whatever form(s) it may take. It may mean staying away from some of your "friends". Good Luck. (and try to take long deep breaths in and let it out as slow as you can. This is a physical way to calm your a** down !)

There's nothing wrong with a healthy anger otherwise we woul'nt have the emotion, if you have a tendency to act on your anger in a physical manner that did'nt require the action then try voicing your anger first before it overcomes you.

It is great that you recognize you have an anger issue, now you have to learn how to readjust it...Allow yourself "cool down " time so that you can deal more rationally with the outcome of the issues at hand..Find something that can serve as a release other than words of anger or actions of violence towards others.....good luck!

It might be tough to follow, but still, this is a very effective way.. Not only to make you cool, this practice wil make you a very good human being.
Whenever you lose yo patience, make up ur mind for jus one second to put yourself in the shoes of the other person (the one yo r angry at) and think from his point of view..

Problem statement. "just can't control myself". This statement is seperating yourself from responsability. This is fine if you have a mental condition and if that is the case you need to get help from a doctor. If you are'nt broken in the head then you need to rethink your attitude. You CAN control yourself and you are choosing to think that you can't. This is escapism.
So your choice. Are you broken? If not. Then get a grip!
