It is regarding the horoscope

Scientific answer is 'NO' , absolutely because stars are planets of nearly spherical shapes far off from us so much that even light from most of them takes thousands of years to reach our earth (light speed is 3,00,000,000 km per second). There is no possibility that they exert any force of even an extremely small amount on us. So, where is any question of their affecting us ? It is an absurd belief.

There are two reasons I can think of that me pause about astrology. First, it is northern hemispheric centric. The "stars" of astrology are all visible and important to those of us who live north of the equator; and many are invisible from south of the equator, to say nothing of the fact that the closest star (other than the sun) to us was unknown to astrologers of the North. It seems odd to me, that astrology would be dependent in this way on the geography of earth.

The second reason is what the "influence" of stars might be. Previous answers suggest that it is the gravitation of the stars. Gravity is a long range force just as electric fields and charge fields are; but what *is* the influence? Let's do a few calculations and see. For the sake of ease, I will conveniently round a few of the measurements, but you are welcome to look them up to assure yourself that I am not "fudging" the case.

The affect of the earth's gravitation on me is well known (to me anyway!). I weigh 80 kg so the force that the earth exerts on me is 9.8 x 80 = 784 n.

How about the sun? Here the formula is

F = G x M x m / r^2

where G is the gravitational constant = 7 x 10^-11
M is the solar mass = 2 x 10^30 kg
m is me = 80 kg
r is earth-sun distance = 2 x 10^11 m

F = .00028 n = 3 x 10^-4 n

Thus the earth affects me about 2.5 million times the sun. How about the brightest star in the northern hemisphere, Sirius?

M Sirius = 2 x sun-mass = 4 x 10^30 kg
r is 9 lights years = 9 x 10^16 m

F = 3 x 10^-12 n in this case the earth is, say, 3 x 10^12 times stronger in effect.

Suppose someone of my mass came into my office and stood 1 meter away from me. What is their gravitational effect?

F = 4 x 10^-7 n which is about 200,000 times stronger that the *nearest* star (other than the sun). But astrology is silent about that. Indeed, there are 100 people in my building whose gravitational affect overwhelms stellar effects. The building in which I work has an even greater affect than the people, but astrology is quite silent on *that* effect.

So, do the stars effect us? Their gravitation is certainly not 0; but is is more than overwhelmed by the local environment in which I live. This leads me to conclude that astrology has a lot of work to do if *I* am to be convinced of its assertions.

From a scientific standpoint Yes, our Sun is a star and without the heat and light it provides none of us would be here. Other than that it's pretty doubtful that other stars so far away would have an discernible effect of you.

That said in physics the universal law of gravitation states that everything with mass exerts a force of gravity on everything else, which is proportional to the mass and inversely proportional the the distant squared between them.

So a distant star will exert some gravitational force on you but due to the massive distance it is doubtful that this force could even be measured.

Yes stars are the part of universe and every star/planet is co related to each other.These are linked with gravitation power although are far of light years.
When a star attracts other with his gravitation force then many changes will there on both places.
Our solar system is also effected by the same and resultant the body of human get affected.

The horoscope never was right with me but I love to look at the stars. So, I don't think so.

No, stars have no affect on anyone. Astrology is not Astronomy. Stars do have a very small gravitational attraction to us.

The "horoscope"was formulated thousands of years ago, when they thought that the earth was flat and enery thing revolved around the eath, we are now a little bit wiser. opps! I mean only some of us are a little bit wiser.

If Stars (Planets & Otherwise) can have an effect on earth itself, then it surely can have it on us living on earth...

It is energy that we are talking about here...

By the way, this is the GENESIS from which HOROSCOPES were created.....

How these Planets can have an effect on us based on the Position / Location from earth & Sun it had the days we were born in.....

So, yes ...it could have an effect on us...

Did you confuse Astronomy and Astrology? You should ask this in the Alternative section. Stars being light years away can have no effect on us apart from shining insignificant amounts of light on us.
