The IRB is trying to spread the game around the world but not doing a good job since awarding the RWC 2011 to NZ. Asia has a lot to offer to rugby and been ignored again.

I think Japan should have been, but it's a bit late to do anything about it now. It would definitely have been a good way of moving the game forward, rather than making a rather predictable choice. I wonder if the IRB was influenced by New Zealand's claim that the tournament is getting too big for such a small country to host, so that if they didn't get it in 2011, they'd never be able to host it again... emotional blackmail?

Until relatively recently Japan had the second largest number of licenced rugby players in the world. That's no longer the case but having the RWC in Japan wouldn't necessarily have the desired effect - the football world cup there in 2002 wasn't great - it was too hot.

I think that the RWC should be played in the US some time soon. That would have a direct effect on the global interest in the game.

it quite is like Flemington rebuilding to handle the prove for Melbourne Cup Day - often times those issues at the instant are not achievable, perhaps in the "long"run it could be useful yet keep in mind we are a small us of a and don't have the inhabitants to make this undertaking achievable. it quite is a shame to not see the stadium pass forward yet shall we be functional, come on. We ***** approximately it not likely forward yet we are the 1st to ***** as tax payers while fees boost. Rugby is our #a million sport and we've continuously been the worlds perfect or thereabouts. there heavily isn't a controversy on #'s attending the fewer widespread video games i think of maximum video games could be of potential crowds. NZ fees as between the best 10 international places to pass to in the international not purely is the RWC a draw card yet in addition NZ as a rustic is a huge attraction to our traveling international places. Tourism is the main important marketplace in NZ (even better than dairy). So 2011 is going to be a huge twelve months for NZ as an entire without or with a clean stadium to seat sixty 5,000. From the main important areas to the main distant settlements in NZ having the RWC on our soil is each and every kiwi's income. i'm beneficial NZ will supply. Jock Hobbs & NZRU secured the internet hosting rights and that they actually heavily isn't out to fail. convey forth 2011.

The better country won the rights to host the world cup come 2011 but it would be nice to see a country other than the top 10 rugby nations host the world cup. Now that would be a sight for sore eyes

In my opinion, Japan should have been given the chance, if you are talking about spreading the game. However, Japan is the top rugby nation in Asia, though their world ranking is not so high.

Yes, but Japan has a small percentage of population who are interested in Rugby. These people are more interested in Football & Baseball than Rugby,so, as a Rugby fan you decide.
