Has anybody experienced a lighter period and been pregnant. Ie, heavier than impantation bleeding would be but lighter than your normal period. Would appreciate answers from people who have experienced this themselves, thanks so much!

I have just found out that I'm 12 weeks pg, which was a bit of a shock because I thought I was only 8 weeks due to having had a "period". I was pretty taken aback as this is my second pregnancy and I had no bleeding at all with my first. When the hospital confirmed my new due date, they asked if I could remember what that period was like. I've tried to think about it but all I really remember was that it did seem to be lighter than normal and it only lasted four or five days as opposed to the normal week. But to be frank, there was nothing about it that really made me think that something was up. It's only now that I know that I must have been pregnant then that I'm applying hindsight and noticing differences.

I suppose the only sure sign that you're pregnant is a positive pregnancy test!

I would suspect implantation bleeding if it occurs a bit earlier than expected, if it were scanty, spotty, pinkish and not red and heavy like a period, and does not follow the normal pattern of a period (light to heavy to light).

The BBT should remain elevated and not decline to preovulatory levels.

There is often the feeling that it is a period with light cramps and bloating, but the bleeding is shorter, lighter and just not normal.

If a woman is usually regular, and now all of a sudden develops this type of early spotting, and of course is "at risk" for a pregnancy, I would strongly suspect conception.

Sometimes though implantation bleeding isnt even noticed as it usually occurs as 1-3 spots of blood for many woman and thats it.But i hope you get the result you wish for and hope this will help you determine whats happening.

I would go to the doctor, just looked it up and it does not look good. No bleeding during pregnancy is a good sign, at 3 months it´s really not good.

Miscarriage or ectopic pregnancy Spotting or bleeding can be an early sign of miscarriage or an ectopic pregnancy, especially if accompanied by abdominal pain or cramping. (Bleeding can also signal a molar pregnancy, a relatively rare condition in which abnormalities in the fertilized egg at conception make it impossible for the embryo to develop or survive.)

With my first child, I had a lighter period the first month only. However, sometimes women do continue to have have periods throughout pregnancy. Be on the safe side, get checked out by your doctor.

I had 3 days of a dark brown discharge, Not normal and not bright red. This happened at the exact time my period was suppose to start...I was bloated and crampy...Thought I would start normal at any time, but it didn't happen...Urine test all came out negative, from home and hospital...I got a blood test at almost 2-1/2 to 3 months pregnant, and it was possitive....Good luck! .

i only had bleeding for the first few weeks after I found out. I still went up the doctors and he said that if it continued into my 3-4 month of pregnancy then I needed to go straight back up as it could be serious

PLEASE don't wait to c if it get worse just go up your doctors. Don't worry he will not think you are over-reacting if he is a good doctor he will just be glad u chose to go up and get checked out before it got worse.

yes iv had five children an bleeding does accrue but it can be brought by certain things .. sex can make you bleed so may be your still having sex !! but if it every time your due to have a period this is quiet common so if your doctor has given you the thumbs up their is not much to worry about good luck with your pregnancy !!!!
