I think the charger sent with a recent purchase (used) is not the right one. It gets really hot, but seems to do the charging. The device label is DC 16V/3.75 amp, charger/adapter label is 16V/2.5 amp.

the charger is being pushed to its limit. chargers usually have a 50% short term over-rating, meaning it could supply 3.75 amps for a short time only. eventually it will die, blow a fuse or burn out the transformer. could start a fire if it gets too hot. not safe at all. get a more powerful charger(higher current rating) to be safe. i have 30 years experience as electronics technician
