yesterday on the internet there was a story about a man who heard noises from his neighbor's apartment and thought she was being raped. He broke down her door with a sword in hand ( a family heirloom). Turns out the noises were from an adult movie. Funny right? But now he is being charged and sent to jail for a little bit of time for damaging property and something else. What bothers me is that if she was really being raped, he would be a hero now. What do you think?

Yeah, I heard about that. Apparently he didn't have a phone in his apartment to call the police. I don't think he even broke down the door. He just kept pounding on it until the guy finally answered. He forced him to show him the apartment and immediately backed off once he realized that the "jerk" was watching rape porn.

While he did break the law...technically, I still think he is a hero and sincerely hope he gets leniency. AND I hope the jerk is embarrassed by the publicity that comes out of it.

I agree that the the charges do not fit the crime. This man had good intentions and was attempting to be a good citizen (although calling 911 would have been smarter). I believe that ultimately, he will simply have to pay for property damages and maybe a small fine.

If someone breaks into my home waving around a weapon I sure would want them in prison.
