Hmm, the best alloys are without a doubt made by BBS and OZ. Chrome is so 80's please don't do it!
Go for a timeless design, OZ Superturismo are the weapon of choice for the racing fraternity and have been for years (take a look at tarmac spec rally cars and see how many people use them) and so they never seem to look dated, a good buy if they're going to be on the car for a couple years.
BBS rims seem to suit the opel models so also a good choice, don't bother with the 3 piece split rims as they horrifically expensive for no benefit. Again, BBS wheels seem to be timeless, unlike things from TSW and Khan etc.

The standard ones.
Anything else is just a waste of money - unless you really want your VXR to look like its a 1.3 diesel someone has tried to make into a VXR clone, but couldn't get the right wheels.
Anybody who knows something about cars will respect a proper VXR, but suspect one with non-standard wheels isn't really a VXR.
Anybody who doesn't know what a VXR is, won't notice.
