It comes naturally to me. I'm narcoleptic and it is a very common trait of narcolepsy. It can be really cool sometimes as I can control which direction the dream goes. My longest one was two weeks (in my mind), that means that the way I perceived time in the lucid dream was that it lasted two weeks. Lots of things happened to me in two weeks (in the dream) so when I finally woke up I was a bit shattered as I just lived through two weeks in the space of a few minutes. Lucid dreaming is cool, but another trait of narcolepsy, sleep paralysis can be frightening and interesting. Have you ever had that? I don't recommend it though.

I haven't had a bad dream/nightmare since I read about lucid dreaming when I was about 12, I'm 32 now! I can't always totally control what I'm dreaming about but I can often influence what is happening in my dreams, that's how I never have bad dreams. I stop the bad stuff happening. I'd probably get better if I had dreams I could remember more often - I don't feel like I get much 'practise' sort of thing! The best dreams I have are when I'm starring in films or TV shows - usually whatever I was watching before I fell asleep.

It's not that common but there are still a good amount of people that can do it. Some people have to practice at it, while others (like yourself) have it come naturally.

Honestly, I only lucid dream on rare occasions, but on a side note; my dreams are usually so very vivid that after I wake up I just need a moment to breathe and take in all the beauty my mind developed.

I don't know what "Lucid dreams" are but would like to.
I'm interested!
Please add detail and explain what they are.

I do sometimes have what I call "virtual reality" dreams- dreams that seem so real that when I wake-up I have to ask myself if that was a dream or did it just happen?

Depends who you are and where your state of mind lies....
I think if i need to i can, apparently i've done it in the past.. when i needed to... it was... something i was unaware i could do but something i needed to do.
But mayb eit wasn't lucid dreaming?!
And i'll just leave it there while i think whether it will help me now
