It would be helpful to have a little more information. Equal for everyone where? For everyone over the age of 18?
Assuming you mean only in the U.S., and people over the age of 18, I would have to say yes. Everyone is protected by the Constitution Of The United States, which gives every citizen equal protection under the law.

the law is meant to be equal to everyone but i don't think the law is equal to everyone now a days. the decisions made by the honourable court depends on the honesty of the judge. he/she may take the bribe and give the decision in the favour of the richer person but this doesn't mean that our country can bought for a price, there are also certain judges and lawyers who are honest and can't be bought for a sum of money. i hope the judicial system of our country becomes completely honest.

the laws are equal but the way they are enforced are not. if your a long haired hippie you are more likely to be harrased by police while walking down the street than a short haired guy in a suit. Trust me I know. A black is more likely to be arrested and put in prison than a white. So is a man compared to a woman. Cops are trained to profile people. They assume if you look different from everyone else than you are a criminal.

Yes, law is equal for everyone, but sometimes its administration/application is unequal. Now a days it's more true about India. The machinery of justice, sometimes, is being so operated that it favours to someone may be a well to do.

Before some time law was robbed by rich and power full criminals but now India courts proved that all are equal before the law.
Many power full politicians and rich persons are behind the bar now.

Have to be by rights, and it is, but justice is not equal.

This is the case all over the world, as some people who can afford high quality legal help, can get most of the time, batter justice in their favour.

Laws in our country are in such a fashion that a poor man will not be able to get speedy justice. See the consumer act, which was introduced in 1986 for speedy justice. But truth is they are slowly on their path of becoming alternate civil courts !!
