I would go with UPS there global and so therefore there rates cannot be beaten. I often send large parcels around the world for my business and up until a few months ago I had to pay the full rate and it was UPS that kept me competitive. Fortunately I now get business rates.
All the best,

This is not easy to answer, cheapest is not always the best! consider the value of the items, will they be covered by insurance? can the manufacturer send them to you?. Think air freight would be the best option. You can always ask your local council to help seeing that it is for school project. Good luck

SLOW BOAT
try contacting local radio and making an appeal
and a ships captain might take them for a reduced rate as it is for a good cause.
