If you mean time of day, just enter the time in HH:MM or HH:MM:SS format, and Excel should recognize it. The Format/cells menu will allow you to change the display (military time, am/pm, etc.).

If you are referring to the MULTIPLICATION sign, - then the ANSWER is * - the STAR, - achieved, by holding down "SHIFT", and depressing the "8" key!

quickest way is just = cell*cell
