In the playoffs, anything can happen. There isn't much of a disparity of talent level between the #1 seed from the #8 seed. After all, one probably needs at least 90+ points to get in. If the Flames get in they have a really good chance as anyone.

That being said, I don't think they have enough to get past the Nashville Predators or the Anahiem Ducks to get to the the Stanley Cup finals. Much less win it.

I don't think the Flames have much chance of it. I mean, with teams like Anaheim, Nashville, Detroit, and Buffalo in there, I just don't like their chances. The Flames are an ok team but they're not quite at the level of those other teams.

right right now they are sitting in 8th position in the western conference and if they hold that spot they have a chance.look what happened with edmonton last year(Cinderella team)and they went all the way to the cup finals.in hockey anything can happen and i think that is what makes hockey so much fun to watch.even the best of teams can be beat by the worst team.

Well lets look at this using logic. 16 teams are in the playoffs. They might be one of the 16 teams. So 1/16 would be their odds of winning the cup. If they fail to make the playoffs then their odds are 0/16.

The key for the Flames to have a shot is winning the division, imo. They have a great home record but a terrible road record.

I think Calgary's style of hockey is more effective in the playoffs for some reason. And I hope they do well!!!

I can't add more without being biased.

I'd say good.. if they make the playoffs. Not a guarentee they are in the playoffs yet. But Jarome Iginla, Miikka Kiprusoff, Dion Phaneuf, and Alex Tanguay are a few players who can make an impact.

Kiprusoff alone gives them a 15% chance, depending on seeding I say they have between a 25 to 40 % chance.

no chance.... not even using my bias against them (i'm a sharks fan.)

they're not as good a team this year as they were in the past. it's not gonna cut it with nashville, detroit, anaheim, dallas, and *also* san jose doing well.

10-1 I'd say. I think they are better than their record indicates.
