NO YOU DO NOT HAVE TO WAIT TO USE THE PREM GAS. YOU CAN USE HIGHER OCTANE GAS PERIODICALLY (DEPENDING HOW MUCH YOU DRIVE) TO HELP CLEAN YOUR FUEL INJECTION SYSTEM.
I USE IT EVERY TIME I GET THE OIL CHANGED.
OF COURSE YOU SHOULD CHECK YOUR OWNERS MANUAL TO SEE WHAT KIND OF GAS THE MANUFACTURER RECOMMENDS.

You can mix, but to get the full benefits of the higher octane, you need to fill most the tank with the higher octane.
But why are you wanting to spend the extra money for a high octane, is your car knocking? The higher octane will not make most "normal" cars run any better, your just spending extra money for something you don't need. If you think the cleaning agent inside it is better, go to Chevron or Texaco if they are in your area. They put Tecron in all their grades, so you can get the cleaning action from the regular grade.

No you don't have to wait until the tank is empty you can mix the different octane levels but the only gas you don't want to put in your car is diesel.

You can mix the fuels and it will boost your octane, but it won't help. Unless you have a high compression engine your engine will not benefit from it. I do know this. I use to race cars and bikes and had to buy racing fuel for my bike and my 71 Mustang. Don't waste your money. Buy the cheap gas, or if you have a sporty car you might try a mid grade. Premium is a big scam for all but the Ferrari, Porche, and most of the Corvettes and other exotics.

Nope==gas is gas===the octane is nothing more than an anti-knock agent used in higher compression cars--yours is probably 9 to 1---like the rest--so you are wasting money !0 to 1 hasn't been an issue for many years

No, You do not have to wait for your regular-gas tank to be emptied, you can top up with premium gas at any level you want to as long as you do not mix petrol with diesel. I have mixed reg. &pre. before and there is no problem at all.

Unless your car recommends premium or is knocking, it is pointless. Yes, you can mix them.
