I'm affraid you won't have much choice in the very near future.
Get it over and done with. your comapny should provide it free. If you go for level 2 very little work is involved if you get a decent trainer. If it's a case of you feel you would be unable to complete written work most of it can be done with oral questions (the assessor will ask you and write down your answers. )
I've done my 3 and did it when more written work was involved and i'm by no means the smartest cookie in the jar.
Talk about it with your employer and they will find the easyest way for you to do it.
Good look.

Very little work is required for a NVQ - I have done 3 of them, the last one was paid for by my employers.

Everyone in my Dad's company is being FORCED to do them. The youngers guys who protested where told that if they didn't do the NVQ they would be sacked and would be given a reference so bad they would never get a job in that particular industry again.

In these increasingly qualification-demanding times you will struggle to remain in your chosen employment if you don't bite the bullet and get an NVQ. Also how are employers able to be sure that you can carry out your job effectively and satisfy all the health and safety requirements if you have not received the appropriate education?

Really David - it is hard, but these days qualifications
are what are required.
It really is just about portfolio building - just showing proof
of what you do and how you do it. There will be tutors
that can help you. You did not say whether you are employed
at the moment. If you are, there should be no problem. If
you have good colleagues, they may support you. But if you,re
unemployed at the moment NVQ will be expected of you if
you apply for a job. Good Luck.
(It is daunting - but you,ll get there!)

in case you want to maintain your activity think ofyou've have been given to do one if your company asks to do it. anybody contained in the employer became advised that had to do one in the event that they needed to maintain working contained in the industry.
