a) Pure copper can be produced by heating copper(II) sulfide in the presence of diatomic oxygen from the air. Sulfur dioxide gas is also produced in this reactions.

b) Water is formed by the explosive reaction between hydrogen gas and oxygen gas.

c) When baking soda (sodium hydrogen carbonate) is heated, it decomposes, forming the products sodium carbonate, carbon dioxide, and water.

1. Zn + H2SO4 =ZnSO4 + H2(gas evolved). 2. Cu + AgNO3 = CuNO3 + Ag(solid deposited). 3. 2Ag + Cu(NO3)2 = 2Ag + Cu(NO3)2 (no reactiion) If reaction 2 occurs, reaction 3 cannot occur because according to the electrochemical or activation series, those elements that are higher in the electrochemical series can only displace those that are lower than them but they that are lower cannot displace those that are higher. therefore, copper is higher than silver, thus,it can displace silver(reaction 2 is feasible) but silver is lower than copper, therefore reaction 3 cannot occur(not feasible).

a) CuS + O² + Heat => Cu + SO²
b) 2 H² + O² => 2H²0
c) 2NaHCO³ + Heat => Na²CO³ + CO² + H²O
PS - You see, you usually represents "heat" with a triangle upper the arrow.
