The world knows us as a biggest democretic country & we also know that but is it a right decesion? is it not the explotation of illitrate & poor people who does'nt know the meaning of democrecy? We all educated people mostly does'nt take more interest in the election procedure either due to lack of time or dissatisfaction so what shoud be the alternative? Is there the need for so scientific method of administrator, legislative along with the judisary? I expect a very good response & comments from all of our yahoo members so pl ready & answering this question.

every system has its positieves and negatives and life.
india is democratic country only by number of people.how many of 1000000000 people truly understand democracy.
for some time India should be ruled by one good dictator

It is for the government and the politicians to ensure that every citizen votes and arrangements has to be made to allow people to vote from any corner of the country or even from abroad through electronic medium>it is easily possible but our politicians specially the congress party banks on illiterate votes and Muslim votes to retain power.
I am sure a day will come when the whole election procedure will change and we can throwout the rotten politicians when ever we decide he is not worthy to hold the seat.
The power to remove the politician from his seat should be vested with people in areal democracy .so long it is not given to people it is a pseudo democracy.

It is not freedom, but democracy. A system of Govt for the people, by the people and of the people. Who decides it ? The people. How? By poll. Who rules? Their elected representatives. Who is being ruled? Their own people. There may be errors but the blame should be on ourselves. This system is cherished by other countries and they are switching over to this type of Govt. What is needed is awareness. You educate others. Organize groups.
discuss your rights and duties. Try to study the other forms of ruling prevalent in yester years.

Freedom is always a good thing..but America really isn't that free anymore. We have the right wing conservatives trying to force religion and morals down our throats or fascism.
Then we have liberal democrats who aren't really in tune with reality.. who like to stomp all over our Constitution because they're cowards and want big brother to protect them and nurture them.. Freedom is a wonderful thing.. but freedom also allows all of the idiotic things i have stated to occur.

the so called uneducated voters of India proved that they are more intelligent and devotees of democracy .
The Indian public changed the rule of congress and Indira Gandhi in elections.
