She's a bit to squeeky and high pitched for me.
Question is am I entitled to my opinion?

Sorry but I disagree.
I cant stand her.
And it isnt just because she has the most strangest voice on the planet sounds like a screaming cat pusched of the empire state building.
Her music is awful as well the lyrics may have some reason but the way lily puts them across is just not the right way to go about it.
Lily Allen makes those songs which I call catchy..which most people who like pop music love for the catchy tunes. Catchy is a spell put on people these songs have a way of it to get in your head and stay there. But in the end when you really listen you should realised its the worst song ever made and doesnt even make sense.
So No i cant stand her and theres my reasons. No offence to you you;ve just come under the catchy pop lover theme....you may like to be called that.
lol not having a go at you but you asked why....doubt ill get ten points

I really, really like Lily Allen. I'm probably old enough to be your mother (i'm a late 30-something), and found Lily by accident one morning on my way to work while trying to find a repeat of "I Love NY." I saw the Lily Allen video and loved the sound, bass, beat, sound instantly. And then a few days later i heard her song on the radio (the alternative station). and then i just found her my space http://www.myspace.com/lilymusic with music! i'm not your typical 30-something. i'm more like a "30 going on 13" kind of person. i use my ipod at work to tune out the nonsense all around me, and i can't wait to add Lily's song "Smile" to my ipod! Hope this helps. I also like Lady Sovereign, too! when i was your age i was listening to everything from Pete Townsend to the Rolling Stones to the English Beat and AC/DC!! And yes, you're right, if you get expelled or experience another of life's inconveniences / temporary derailments, it isn't the end of the world.

I'm sorry but I can't stand the girl - sorry I know you like her.
The only reason she got into the limelight is because of her dad. You have a famous Dad and it makes people actually notice you. Okay I admit she has got a good voice and her songs are a little catchy but she is a spoilt brat.
You just have to see the performance she made at the brits because she didn't win anything. Does that not tell you something?
I know your only young but please get a better taste in music and being expelled from school is not an achievement in life.
;-)

I like her attitude to just be herself, not go out wearing hardly any clothes or getting skinny just to be accepted by the media. However, having heard her interviewed I think she can be a bit immature and will regret some of the things she says, especially her opinions of others but I do think as a songwriter she is talented.
Whether she should be suggesting that you can be successful despite being a troublemaker at school and screwing up your education I don't know - remember, her parents are in the business - nepotism goes a long way.

Nope, zero.
1. She simply sucks
2. She can't sing that good
3. If she was expelled from all her schools, then she's not a qualified person, education must be completed (though if it was because her parents didn't have money than that's not bad, but if it was bcuz she didn't study, well... she's not smart) And if she did dropped out (from what I've heard) that's the reason her attitudes not nice AND that reflects what kind of person she is
4. It's better to like people who finish school
5. She looks weird and her music videos are just as suckish as her

No. She's just made it over here to the States, but as I listen to Radio 1, I've known of her for quite a while. She tries way too hard to be a tough girl, slating other artists (like Corrinne Bailey Rae) who, like her, are just trying to make a living doing what they love. In my opinion, Lily's songs aren't that earth-shakingly great, and certainly don't live up to the image she is trying to cultivate.
I also believe that it's a lot easier to drop out of school and still succeed when you have a famous parent.
As far as female singers go, Amy Winehouse's edginess is authentic, and I enjoy listening to her a lot more. Under the rough exterior, there seems to be a softness and vulnerability about her that you can hear through her music. I can relate to her songs.

Lily Allen happens to be one of the most overrated acts around at the moment. But you are entitled to your opinion - though maybe you should think more about what appeals to you. Is is the rebellion? Or is it the fact you can be successful after dropping out? Because Lily is not rebellious, she's never had anything to rebel against, yes she is successful, but the music she makes has become so marketable that its lost its credibility. I can't stand to listen to her because I find the melodies of her tracks really grating. I also think that her attitude is so put on that she comes across as being a highly insecure person. Egos like that never helped anybody. She shouldn't slag every single other person on the planet off. Its great she's not afraid to speak her mind, but she doesn't need to be so full of herself. Hopefully she will mature soon....because from what I've noticed, her appeal is dwindling really fast.

She may have been expelled from all her schools and still made it, but I think that the family have more money than they know what to do with and are firmly ensconsed in the acting/music business have something to do with it. Her songs are ok though.

I can not stand her. She sings in a cockney accent but she's actually from Brighton. Oh, and her music's samey and rubbish.
And she was on my second favorite political discussion show "This Week", why? What has she done to be on it other than be well-known?
Her dad's song "Vindaloo" is quite catchy though.

Yes but I know I shouldn't.
Contrary to others here I actually do think she can sing. Her lyrics I also enjoy greatly, don't think she is particularly street myself but she paints a nice picture of the grittier side of life.
Also love the way that radio stations edit out the swearing to play her tunes, very amusing.
