I speak only a little French and I don't want to make any irreversible mistakes at a French salon. I know this is a bit pathetic, however I also have a daughter and two sons who need a trim too and it could get confusing. Visiting the hairdressers is one of the few things I have not summed up the courage to do since we arrived LAST APRIL!! Need help, anyone! Mercixx

It's not the hairdressers competence I am worried about, it's mine. I a bit indecisive to say the least!! Thank you for replying so quickly, maybe I will 'bite the bullet' and just go. Thanks for the phrases I am sure they will prove to be most helpful, I just have to get the pronunciation right!

Pif poche if you cannot be more constructive, then I would appreciate it if you didn`t use me to get your 2 points. We can`t all be positive all the time. When I ask for help I really don`t expect to be offended, go back to your shallow little world and leave the rest of us alone. Swearing on here is not allowed although I think you know where I am comimg from!!!
