produce, manufacture, and sell Hummos that is everything that ´traditional Arabic´ Hummos is NOT. Why are you going to put jalapeños in my Hummos?? I just want five ingredients: tahini, chickpeas, lemon juice, salt, and garlic, and MAYBE a bit of water. Why would you make it anything different than that?

To beth&wayne, I am at home, I can make whatever food that gives me the desire, and it was just a question, not permission for a couple of ´cretans´ to share an opinion about something else, entirely.

Stores are in business to make money. They manufacture what sells. Clearly the flavour added homus sells better so they are experimenting to see what gives the best income. If you find more people who like it the way you do you will be able to easily sway the store back.

To the American palate, traditional hummus is bland. What you want wouldn't sell. HOWEVER, it's so simple to make that I don't know why anyone would buy tthe premade/prepackaged kind anyway.
