I love the pinstrip and cami look, you are blond? Then black is very sophisticated and more like a going out colour than work stuff. Both sound good though, pick whatever you feel best in, the confidence will show.

Curve-hugging black dress, just below the knees, esp with a split either on one side of a leg or the back. High heels with the strap round the ankles too. And of course sheer black 15 denier tights. Remb the red lipstick!

Curve-hugging modest black dress. Ends a little above knees. Maybe with a little cleavage. If not, then straight cut at the shoulder.
What are you planning? To do the boss?

Oh, go for the black dress!! I wore a really nice black lycra shift dress (not skintight) to work for Valentine's Day that was sleeveless, with a cowl neckline, and a hem that cut just below my knees, like one of those sexy pencil skirts. It was very tasteful and covered the cleavage and thighs, but it was also VERY va-voom, as I usually wear jeans (I work graveyard as an editor, so we can get away with such).
I got lots of compliments! Yes it's work, but looking good on the outside makes us feel good on the inside sometimes, so go for it. If you decide to go really sexy for work (like if you were going to appear on Soul Train, LOL, which is not quite the way I'd go), then downplay the hair, makeup and accessories.

This is exactly why women have a "glass ceiling" in the workplace....and why women, in general, make less money than men. While you are debating on what looks sexiest at work, at that same moment, there is probably a man actually getting work done. Come on ladies! We want to be equal, right? Let's act that way.
