This could be due to numerous reasons, but there's not enough info to expound intelligently.
Without more information, some of the reasons could be:
If you are pregnant, you may be miscarrying
Pregnant
Could be due to birth control pills
Depends on your age - if this is your first period, it's normal
Could be related to stress
If you're an anorexic, this could be a cause
Like I said, it's hard to answer your question without knowing more details.

Probably a hormonal imbalance. If you want to be regular I'd suggest going on the pill. Now, if you don't want to do that because you heard that the pill makes you gain weight, then abstain from taking the green pills, because they're apparently sugar. My friend said she discovered this and she takes all but the green ones and is fine.
But if you're more concerned, i'd suggest asking a doctor.

It depends on your age. If you are a teen ager it will take time till your system is steady. If you are approaching menopause it is getting less and less. If you are middle age you can be pregnant, too thin, worried or have hormonal imbalance.
