You know you can't do much just by yourself. The best and the most efficient thing you can do is, go out and give food or money to some poor people. Money is not an exact solution anyway.
They say "Don't feed someone with fish, teach them how to fish instead."

Eliminate the despotic leaders and warlords that steal the relief goods taken to these starving nations.
The issue isn't the amount of food available. The issue is the management and distribution of the supplies. Get rid of the bad guys and the world would be better off.
Or perhaps a scheme to move the starving to a more fertile region, instead of setting up housekeeping in the middle of a giant sandbox.
Not to be evil, but I have a few issues with this type of adi situation.
How many decades has the free world been carting food to the same places over and over and over again? If they cant make a living where they are... evacuate.
Has anybody thought about not having eight or ten kids when the current population cannot be fed effectively?
Many cultures raise surplus livestock for status and not food. Their kids are dropping like targets in a gallery, but the cattle are fed and never used for food.
Management and common sense are needed more than food. Too often we hear how the industrial powers are destroying the world, but never about those whose suffering seems to almost be self inflicted. Sounds horrible, but if life is so bad...move over the next hill. Travel to the coast and harvest fish, but just get the people out of the stinking desert.
I could understand the issue if it were half as complicated as the world seems to think it is.
