Basically i want to listen to music at work. My girlfriend has said that her phone at her work is connected to her computer, so when the phone rings, the volume of the music she is listening to drops.
Is it fairly easy to set up such a system? Thanks

People, i know how physically to connect the phone. I'm more interested in the volume dipping. If you don't know how to do this, there isn't much point in you replying

I dont think that it will be easy. For Windows systems you will need to use TAPI compliant hardware (modem) and will need to write a plug-in that will lower the volume in the music software.

The modem will detect the incoming call and initiate the procedures to send the message to the music software for volume reduction. That is how it should be designed, I have no idea how to implement it.

If you have a modem, connect the line from the wall into your modem then another line from your modem into the phone.

The rest is just a program that controls the volume.

well, if you need to connect to the internet first you should have modem device that is connected into your pc then you should creat a dail up connection (Just go your nework place and creat new connention by usuing dail up connection "follow construction it's easy to use") but you should have an account or anything allows you to connect throught the net, and about music, there are surly some programs that you can install, try to search in this site (www.downloads.com).
