I've never heard of bad side effects from vitamin E!

Make sure that you are using a natural source, such as wheatgerm oil. Also, nuts and seeds are good sources.

If you take a supplement, again use a natural one rather than a synthetic one. It is more likely to be well tolerated.

I remember there is a caution against introducing too much vitamin E (supplement) if you have a heart condition. You should build up the amount slowly, giving your heart muscle time to adjust. In any case, 200-400 ius is enough for most people.

If your getting side effects from vitamin E your not getting a natural vitamin. Or the oil has gone rancid. Look for vitamin E in a gel capsule that has D-Alpha tocopherols

When you are looking at vitamins it is smart to keep them in balance with the other ones you may be taking. There is a heart specialist in CA that recommends prenatal vitamins to all his patients (male and female) because they have the building blocks needed for us.
